When Rutlands Dressed To Impress was a puppy, she was so full of funny antics to make us laugh that we were always saying to her 'you're such a monkey!' and before we knew it, that had become her pet name. Now that she's all grown up, the name still suits her, perhaps even more than it did before! She loves to retrieve and carry things in her mouth and this is her most recent photo. Monkey's mama is Rutlands Shakea and her daddy is Rutlands Lil Alfred. I sent Alfred to a really lovely lady in America when he was a puppy and I was so impressed with the way he turned out that I purchased his frozen semen and had it sent to Australia. The wonders of modern medicine have produced our 'Monkey'!
Many of you will remember Clementine (Clemmie) as the girl with the big grin. She turned thirteen earlier this year and is still like a puppy. She is still so active and full of life, with no arthritis, and it's only the grey on her dear face and the fading sparkle in her eyes that's giving away her age. Here she is sleeping in the little doughnut bed she likes so much. It's so small that she has to curl up to lie in it, but she prefers it over her bigger one. Go figure. But at her age she's earned the privilege of choosing what she wants! Remember her famous grin? Clemmie started doing this when she was a puppy, whenever she thought she was in trouble. She knew it made me laugh and forget whatever it was she was in trouble for. Very smart! She doesn't do it much any more and I miss it.
