Danny
Danny is a result of my most succssful infusion of the (Irish only) Soft Coated Wheaten breed. He was kept entire and his semen collected and frozen to be used for breed improvement over distant years and generations but intended to use before the infusion's benefits become washed out of the gene pool.
The breed faults this infusion corrected were all to do with health and the skeletal conformation so closely linked to those health issues. For example, chronic ear infections were rife. Scarcely a dog of this breed bred anywhere in the world escaped from this painful, expensive to treat, and emotionally draining condition.
Some of the infused puppies had vastly improved conformation of the inner ear with broadening of the ear canal and with a lift at the base and reduced inner ear hair and these puppies were kept to selectively breed on with. Another issue the infusion corrected was long bodies, with slung sway backs, fronts pointing East/West and weak loins, predisposing to HD and other OCDs. (joint problems) |
