Rutland Manor Retired Breeding Dogs Where Do They Go?
Rutland Manor Breeding Dogs have such beautiful natures and have been so well socialized and loved, that they are always in huge demand as Therapy Dogs or Family Companion Dogs when they retire from breeding and still young enough to give their forever families many more years of love and companionship. The ones who have been living with guardian home families naturally retire with those families, but those who have been living with us, go to loving forever homes throughout Australia and across the world. While they are breeding, these dogs have gathered a faithful following of fans some of whom have one of their puppies, or else have just fallen in love with them along the way. I would like to give a very big thank you to the families who have stayed in touch over the years and who have shared their love for and stories of these wonderful retirees for their fans ( and me! ) to enjoy.
RUTLANDS AVA - Retired From Breeding in November 2011
Rutlands Ava is a beautiful Standard female with a glossy black Wavy Fleece Coat with silver frosting .
When she moves she floats across the ground as light as thistledown and with such grace that she is joyous to watch, with her silky coat rippling. Ava is the closest thing to a clone of her litter sister Rutlands Anya and when the two are together it can be quite difficult to tell them apart from a distance!
Ava has dark brown eyes that sparkle and she looks deep into your soul, always ready to please and to love. From a more practical point of view, as a legacy from her IRISH Soft Coated Wheaten background, she has never had an ear infection, and beneath her beauty is a sound, tough healthy dog of perfectly balanced proportions.
Ava was not bred until she was over two years of age. Her litter sister Anya retired after her third litter in August 2010.

Rutlands Evita - Comes back for a visit to RM at Eight Years of Age December 2010
Evita is the mother of the legendary Rutlands Kelby. She was retired in 2006 to her loving forever home in Melbourne Australia, with Graham and Catherine. In December 2010 they brought her back for a visit and at eight years of age she is still beautiful sound and healthy. These pictures were taken on the day. It was such a treat to see her again after all these years!
Thank you Graham and Catherine for taking the time and trouble to bring her to see me, it was wonderful, and great to catch up with you both as well.

Update March 2013 Evita at 11 years of age.
Hi Beverley,
You may be pleased to know that we took Evita to the vet RSPCA today and she has been given a clean bill of health. She also had her annual vaccinations.

Nell arrived California November 2009
Hi Beverley
Well, Nell has arrived and she is just wonderful. We are in love all over again! I love her perky gait as she walks along and she seems to have settled right in. We are already learning her likes and dislikes (yes to swiss cheese, no to low fat mozzarella cheese sticks) and her wonderful and sweet personality. She is so calm - so different from her sister Phoebe. Poor Nell may never know another moment's peace. They got along right away, running around the back yard and chasing each other, sharing the same water bowl and generally having what appeared to be a lot of fun with each other. She was so cute today when I was eating lunch. She was standing by my right side as I was eating and I was petting her, but as soon as I stopped she took her nose and pushed my hand up to let me she wanted more loving.

She is so so beautiful and you're right, she does grin! I will send some photos as soon as Ron as time to upload them onto his computer. She is also the perfect size, just a little taller than Phoebe, but her body is not as long. And I can scratch her head without having to bend over!!
Thanks again for your wonderful dogs.
With warm wishes,
Ruth-Ellen

Rutlands Anya - Litter sister to Rutlands AVA
ANYA has been the beloved family pet of my lifelong friends Elizabeth and Fred, so when she retired from breeding, it went without saying that she would spend the rest of her days with them and their family. Anya is now the Hearing Alert dog for Fred and his constant devoted companion' |
