RUTLANDS AUSTRALIAN COBBERDOG RETIRED BREEDING GIRLS
Rutlands Clementine..Long Retired
RUTLANDS CLEMENTINE (CLEMMIE) Went to Rainbows Bridge at 16 1/2 years of age 2017 and leaves a hole in my heart that can never be filled.
Clemmie is loved world wide for her famous grin. She began smiling when she was a puppy of about six months of age. When I'd discover some mischief one of the dogs had been up to, I'd walk into the room saying..."Who did this?"
Clemmie would sit then, in front of me, showing her teeth in a grin. It looked so comical that I'd burst out laughing! In no time flat, she worked out that her grin would get her out of a lot of trouble, and before long, if I asked her to smile, she'd oblige with great enthusiasm. In the photo on the right, you can see the blur of her tail because it's wagging sooooo fast!

Hello Clemmie.....did you do this?

'Oh no, Grandma, not me...Honest, I didn't do anything...see my smile?
|
'You're not convinced?? Ohhh Grandma, would this face lie?

Clementine, like most of my breeding dogs, has had her fair share of negative rumours circulated about her over time, and she rode the wave, remaining exquisitely healthy, and producing wonderful puppies. But I was particularly shocked to hear that 'someone' had posted on a hate site that Clementine was dead and that her 'bones were buried with the bones of all the other dogs I had killed' !
Ahhh well, there's a lot of nonsense out there on the internet. Clementine, at twelve and a half years of age, April 2013 is hale and hearty, and is still one of my heart dogs who shares my bed (most of it sometimes!) ... and my pillow when she thinks I'm not looking.
