DJ's Page
DJ has matured to a Medium. between 17 and 18 inches to the shoulder. Her nature is gentle and sweet, but with a delightful blend of goofy mischief! At just 2 months old she was already showing a strong intuition and empathy for human emotion.
There's a story to how we came to keep DJ. I hadn't intended to keep anyone from Ruby and Zumba's litter of twelve puppies because there were so many families waiting on a Rutlands puppy.
Then one day I was taking photos and it was her turn. As she was picked up, she turned her head to look me straight in my eyes and she GRINNED. My heart leaped.

The last dog I'd had who was an out and out grinner was my beloved Edie (Sharchum Special Edition) whose young life had been tragically cut short the year before by a speeding car that came out of nowhere. That was it. DJ was named (after my husband who is a dj) and she became mine in that instant. I know the difference between puppy yawns and that distinctive grin that not many of them do. But interestingly, DJ hasn't grinned at me since that fateful time. I am convinced that it wasn't coincidence and that it was a signal that I was meant to keep her. That is just one reason she is so precious to me.
