                                                            Dear Beverley,
hello and happy new year. We just celebrated Maggie's 10th birthday a few weeks ago--she is the happiest dog on earth, and very healthy--still chasing her ball like a puppy.

She had another wonderful summer at our beach house, going to the beach every morning and evening, and now, back in Miami, she swims in the pool every day. Not a day goes by that we don't miss our Gypsy and her beautiful spirit and smile, but Maggie gives us more than enough love to compensate, so all is right with the world for us.

Hope you are well, and all the best to you.

                                                            Hi Beverley!
                                                            I hope you are well!

I enjoyed my visit to your site today, and would love to send you some pictures of our dear Gracie Roo, aka Rutlands Amazing Grace, for your Seniors page... She is still her amazing self, has adapted to life in California, and is still our Clown Princess.

                                                            Love,

                                                            Dear Bev,

Here's a relatively recent photo of our beloved Truly.  She truly is!

Let it be said she is not just another pretty face.  Intelligent, intuitive, sensitive, gentle, good-natured, comical...

She's got the appetite of a horse but of course I'm the Mean One who keeps her slender and mindful of her girlish figure. She maintains a lively correspondence via email with her faithful friends Barbie, Harry, Magic, Newton, Shiloh, Suzie, and Xingo.

Twice a week, she goes out with Lindsey who, in her van, drives Truly and a few others, to different parks where they can romp together and let off steam. She also has a hidden side:  One day, when I had to cancel for the afternoon because of a grooming appointment, Lindsey expressed disappointment;  "Oh can't she come out and play today?"  And the reason for the disappointment?

I am informed by Lindsey, "Truly's the life of the party and the people who meet her at the park love her!"  My own 'true' social butterfly.

She's on earth because of you, Bev.  And the incalculable amount of pure joy she bring to this household is honestly beyond words.

Slurps, wags, kisses to her grandma from Yours Truly.

RIPLEY 9 Years if age November 2011

                                                            Hello Beverley,

Today 17th November we are celebrating Ripley's 9th birthday, and I wanted to thank you again for him!

He is NOT slowing down with age and remains as vigorous, healthy, engaged and engaging as ever.

Ripley feels that it is his duty to rid our yard of deer that munch the plants, and we appreciate his hard work along those lines.
He had a bath and haircut yesterday and enjoys that sort of attention.  One thing I've learned over the years is that washing a white dog absolutely insures that a heavy rain is on the way, making for muddy feet that need wiping.  We've been busy with that this afternoon!

                                                            Hope you are well,

Greetings to all from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA! Ten years ago today, on November 19, 2001, Scooter Pie Kershner, the ManDog, was born to his Mom, Rutland's Shadow Brown Chocolate (Shadow) and his Dad, Rutland's Heart Throb Cafe (Huggy) in Melbourne, Australia.

A healthy, happy, loving, and well-loved member of our family turns 10 today. When we reminded him this morning, he was surprised to think that he is really 70 years old, because he still feels like a puppy.

Today he had a breakfast of Maine Yellowfin Tuna and brown rice, and dinner this evening was fresh Boston Scrod and white rice. Needless to say, he is a happy guy, though missing his extended family.

                                                            Hi Beverley
Teddy is great – he is the love of my life.  I could not have asked for a better companion.  We have spent so much time together in his 8 years – yes 8!!!   He enchants everyone he meets – such a well natured little gentleman with a wonderful personality.

Teddy is quite the character – loves to open presents – doesn’t much care what’s inside – just likes to tear the paper!!!

As of yesterday he is an official therapy dog with Therapy Dogs, Inc. here in the states.

I am waiting for his vest, etc. – I will keep you posted.  He worked wonders at the nursing home yesterday – truly amazing.

Love to you from all of us – especially Teddy!
                                                            OXOXO

                                                            Rutland Manor Australian Labradoodle Joey
                                                            Joey Australian Labradoodle
                                                            Dear Beverley,

Your little grandpuppy, Joey, is healthy and happy, at 10 years old! ( Joey came to Los Angeles on August 14, 2001- he was little "Lamb" originally, born May 20, 2001.

Thank you SO MUCH for our Joey. He has made a huge difference in our lives.   Joey has grown with my children, who are now in their 20's.  He brings us such happiness.  You named him well; as "The Lamb" he has always been gentle and loving.  Our vet adores him; he has quite a few Labradoodle patients, and mentioned that he feels they embody all of the good qualities and none of the bad health issues of the distinct, non-hybrid breeds, in general.

Joey's typical resting spot (especially on extremely cold or hot days) is inside with his nose out the doggy door flap- quite funny!  The photos show Joey at 3-5 months old with my children when they were very young, to more recently, in 2010 and 2011, when Joey was 9 and 10 years old.

In one, he has his head on my daughter's legs as she prepares to leave for college.  I 'm also sending one from when he was at your house: "The Lamb inside the study".

Joey is the most lovable bucket of fluff we could have ever hoped for. Now that our two children are out of the house Joey is spoiled even more. My husband just yesterday buried his face in Joey's fur and said it was so amazing that he doesn't have that "doggy smell"; that Joey smells so good! He hasn't had a bath with shampoo in ... well, years. He doesn't need it.

Thank you again for such a wonderful addition to our family.  I'll send updates and more pictures soon!  Please let me know if you come out to California again for another romp!

Doodle kisses from Joey (aka "The Lamb)
                                                            and his family...

                                                            Dear Beverley:

As you can see, even though Perry is 11 years old now, he still is the handsome boy with the eyes that talk to you.  Perry enjoys outings with us, although there aren’t many places that welcome such a big dog.
However one place where he is very welcome is at the Nordstrom’s Dept. Store in the local mall.  All the employees love him, and if we go shopping without him, we will hear complaints from his loyal fans, such as “Where’s Perry?  Why haven’t you brought him along today?  We really enjoy seeing him……what a nice dog he is, and so handsome!  And so well-behaved”  But he is an alpha dog, as you warned me, and when he is off the leash, he does just as he pleases!

Perry Rutland Manor Australian Labradoodle 11 yrs Jan 2011
PERRY ELEVEN YEARS OF AGE JANUARY 2011
However, Bev, I must compliment you…..you leashed-trained him and he is the only dog I’ve ever had who walks at heel on a leash.  There is no pulling or difficulty of any kind.   These days, since I’m such a senior citizen with arthritis in my feet, I can’t walk as far as he needs to be exercised.  So I have a scooter, and Perry walks at heel on my left side with me riding in the scooter.  He keeps pace with the speed I set and doesn’t try to chase squirrels, rabbits or cats who cross our path!  I think he is wonderful, but then I always have!  I call him my Precious Perry, the best dog in the world…and sometimes, he is!
And  I have news of Biscuit, your granddog of my former neighbor.  She says he is still very much loved, well behaved and not causing  any allergic reactions for her asthmatic grandson.

He is also a sweetheart.  When he would come for a visit, when she was living around the corner, he would take her right to our house when she would walk him.  He would come in, greet Perry with lots of tail wags and sniffs, and come looking for me to give me licks and smooches.  Oh, those Australian Labradoodles of yours are just the sweetest and smartest dogs, judging by the 2 I know.  No more doggie news for now. You take care of yourself !
                                                            Love,
and licks and smooches from the Golliwog,

                                                            Hi,
I re-homed one of your dogs, Monkey, in Nov. 2005.  He was 2 1/2 yrs. old.  He was born in May 2003.  His parents were Petal and Yogi Bear.  I believe they were some of your first minis, right?    He has had no health problems, and we're hoping for many more wonderful years with him!

Monkey is a beautiful boy...inside and out.  He is very smart...has great problem solving skills.  He is very active outdoors but has a mellow personality.  He comes up with his own little games to play with us.  He's agile, but at the same time, he's a big goofball!  He keeps us laughing.  He gets along wonderfully with everybody...people and dogs alike.  It gets really hot here, so I keep Monkey clipped pretty short these days.  I groom him myself.  He has always been patient with me.  After being groomed, he struts around like he knows that he looks good.  :)

I just can not say enough good stuff about Monkey.  We love him dearly.  Thank you so much for the work you have done developing this breed.  I am so grateful to have been able to adopt him and to have a dog that doesn't shed or bother my allergies.   God bless you and keep up the good work!
                                                             Thanks again,

                                                            Hi Beverley

Well here we are now. Austin is now 9 years old  and is a valued member of our family. I have a son with Down Syndrome, Jesse, who has bonded beautifully with Austin. There’s nothing like it. Jesse was the reason we decided to get an Australian labradoodle from Rutland. Bev, you and I go back a long way. We had a truly unforgettable visit with you, when you stayed at our house for your “America tour.” I really loved having you here and hope someday you will be able to come back for another visit. My home is always open to you…

Thank you Ivy Jim, and Jesse.  I hope I will be able to see you again too and will look forward to it!
For those who live in the New Jersey/New York area, you will find Ivy's Salon and portfolio here-

I started grooming Labradoodles/Goldendoodles almost 8 years ago, because I felt that groomers at the time just didn’t understand the labradoodle “style.” I’ve been a hairdresser for 39 years, so grooming came easy to me. I love these dogs; their personality on and off the table is really special. Austin gets to play with the dogs after I’m finished grooming them; so he waits and watches patiently in my shop for his time to play.

I love your dogs, and your breeding program; so keep up what you are doing and don’t let the others get you down. You put your heart and soul into these dogs and it definitely shows! I love my doodle and have groomed your doodles and they are always a pleasure!
