BOOMER Seven years old October 2011 Update
Attached are a few of my favorite photos of Boomer. The blue ribbon was from when he won first place in a local doodle contest. Proud mama I was that day :). In another, he is lying with his baby “brother” Leo (the Havanese). He is such a great big brother and does not allow anyone to mess with his little brother! The close up of him makes me smile every time. Have you ever seen such amazing eyes? He is absolutely beautiful. I gave him a great big hug & kiss from his grandma (actually, my daughter did as soon as I showed her your e-mail :)).
Again – thank you so much for sending us such an amazing family member. I hope to one day be able to convince my husband to let a third dog into our home ;). With 3 kids and 2 dogs, it is a very busy life – but wouldn’t have it any other way! One thing’s for sure – if/when we get another, it will be a Rutland Doodle!

Chip is 9 yrs old in Arizona
Here are some photographs of Chip, one with his dear sister Puff. I am not sure I can describe how important Chip is as a member of the family.
Since we got married, now 52 years ago we have always shared our lives with dogs and cats (two Siamese): four German Shepherds (three at once!) two Portuguese Water Dogs and Chip.
All had their strengths and weaknesses (shedding, poor health due to inbreeding (PWD’s) fierce loyalty (German Shepherds) and good humor (PWD’s)
Chip seems to have embodied all the strengths of these wonderful dogs: he is very healthy, does not shed, is super friendly to all humans and most dogs (not Yappies) and knows nearly every joke ever told.
He is always in a good mood and happy to do what ever his family wants to do: go on a trip, go for a walk, swim, go boating. His enthusiasm for life is infectious. We are very lucky to include him in “We Three.”

AUZZIE Seven and a Half Years Old in New York Update 11th August 2011

Dear Beverley,
And what a pleasure it is to hear from you! I am sending you 3 pictures taken today, although Auzzie wasn't in a posing mood! He is just an unbelievable dog who is loved by EVERYONE! He really has the sweetest disposition and cutest mannerisms! His favorite place is perched on top of the sofa, just like a cat! He really resembles his parents, so I know it must be "love at first sight" whenever you see him. I can't believe that he is already 7 1/2!
I am sure that should we decide to get another dog, it would only be from you! It is nice to know that you were able to breed out the predisposition to ear problems. We try to clean his ears out, but we don't do it every day. David is definitely better at it than I am! And my groomer does her best to clean out his ears as well. Other than that, Auzzie is a very healthy and happy dog who loves to play as much as you have the stamina to play with him! We still call him a puppy!
Should you ever come to the states again, NY in particular, We will make every effort to come and see you with Auzzie! Enjoy the pictures! (They were taken with my phone, so they aren't the best quality in the world, but you'll get a good idea of what he looks like now.)

We purchased our red mini "MAX" about 7 years ago when we were living in El Paso, TX. I cannot put into words how terribly sorry I was to read some of these horrific stories about some of these people who allegedly befriend you and RM. MAX has been an absolutely PERFECT dog and we constantly marvel at his incredible disposition and intellect. 3 years ago, we came across a Labradoodle pup in a pet store and we knew we couldn't leave it there, so our Chocolate Medium Doodle "Gus" entered our lives. While we love Gus dearly, he clearly doesn't have the disposition of MAX. MAX stands on his own and I strongly believe that is RM at its' finest. We wish we had more space for more Labradoodles! BTW, for the record, the shipment of MAX to Texas could not have been more professional and caring. We love Rutland Manor and everything you do for these wonderful dogs on a daily basis. Max is a member of the family, with his own distinct personality and loving disposition. He's never happier than sitting on someones lap, snuggling on the couch with us or with our three cats. From the day that we got our gorgeous Maddie home, she has been the most wonderful house mate and member of our family. She is such a delight with the most wonderful temperament and her Dad and I get such joy from her being with us. She makes us laugh so often, she can be a real dag, she has so many little rituals and routines, she is very much a creature of habit.
Maddie gets so excited when we get home from work or being out, she generally grabs one of my slippers and greets us at the door, wiggling her bottom and wagging her tail - we hate to leave her but it is so nice to receive that welcome when we get home. Whilst we are out, she has her spot in the front window (as per the photo), she can spend hours there, just watching the world go by.
Maddie loves to go for walks to the park, to see other dogs, and she loves going for a ride in her Dad's ute. She loves going to visit Grandma and Grandpa and has many sleep overs there when we are out or away.
Maddie has a routine of jumping into bed with us in the cooler early hours of the morning and she pulls back the covers so that she can get under, she then drifts off into such a deep sleep for hours, she likes her sleep just like her Mum.
Thanks to Beverley for our wonderful girl, she is a true gift and we love her to bits!

We found ourselves wanting to get onto the airport loud speaker and say "Finally, finally, finally Bella Luna has landed in San Francisco!" There were many delays involved in the flight from LAX to SFO. When we first saw Bella, we were smiling so much that we were unaware of the tears that were overflowing. We were so excited to finally hold her. Once Bella Luna woke up and realized that the many hours of travel were over, her little tale almost wagged itself off. She was very happy to meet her new family. As soon as we got into our car to drive to Sonoma, she was asleep. Once home even thought it was 10:00 pm, she wanted to check out her new home and play. Her time adjustment was not a factor because by the next day she was right on track. Even her dietary changes have gone very smoothly. We followed the suggestions of what to feed her the first 24 to 48 hours and then onto her raw diet without any issues at all. To quote our vet at the first visit, "she is a very healthy puppy" !! |
We are so thrilled with our precious little girl. We find ourselves just sitting and watching her. We are so thankful to the entire Rutland Family for taking such great care of our baby from the "honeymoon" moment though the delivery and onto the transportation of our special addition to our family. We now take over the responsibility to continue the love and care that Bella Luna has experienced from the beginning of her life at Rutland Manor. To each and every one of you who were involved in Bella Luna's life beginning, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you, again, for including us! We do love her soooooo much. AND she is sooooo funny. AND on and on and on :>)

 | Bella Luna's 3 Yrs Update 2010Dear Gramma Beverley,
My, oh my, where does the time go??? It has been a long time since we connected but I think of you often. I am attaching some photos of Bella Luna, who is now 3 yrs old in her summer cut. By the way, I am doing all of her grooming that I learned from you when we first met in Los Angeles. The last two photos are Christmas 2009. I thought I would just include a combo since I am so bad about continuing to send them. We took Bella Luna to Dillon's Beach, which is a private beach on the Marin County Coastline in California. It is the only beach that is an off leash free run beach. Whoopee! She had so much fun. We were with some other friends and Bella's best friend Maxie, who is a Short Hair. Note from Beverley: Check out the beautiful custom hand crafted pet products on Bella Pet Designs (not to be confused with a similar name used by a cat lady in Chicago). The blankets and scarves are gorgeous and the scarves so clever because they're made so that the collar slips through the fabric and there isn't all that knot of fabric around the dogs' necks. I want to thank you again. My patience and research was all worth it. After researching breeder after breeder, I always ended up back at Rutland Manor website and wanting one of your puppies. Blitz is the best puppy we ever had.
Blitz has fit perfectly into our family from the day he walked out of his crate. He has a great temperament. Blitz loves everyone and everyone loves him. He is a joy to be around, very gentle and mellow, yet always up to playing or running around the yard with the boys. He is such a well mannered puppy that he is able to go everywhere with us and is always welcome at our family and friends homes.

WINSTON Update.. and a second puppy please!

After spending many hours researching the Austrailian Labradoodle and constantly going back to the Rutland Manor website we decided to get on the waiting list. We received Winston in June of 2006! Winston is the smartest, sweetest and most compassionate dog I have ever had.
He has been perfect from day one. Everyone who meets him can't believe he is an Austrailian Labradoodle (which I find I have to educate them as to what that means and whenever anyone refers to him as just a labradoodle I am always correcting).
If you tell him to get his toy he runs and finds it and is ready to play. In one of the pictures I sent he is in the back of a side-by-side tandem bike -- he wouldn't even jump out, he just rode for hours. I could go on an on about how wonderful he is.
Best of all my husband and daughter are not allergic to him, they can cuddle with him. I am so glad that I did the research and decided to go with Rutland Manor. In fact I am so happy with him that we have decided to get another! I have constantly visited the Rutland Manor website since receiving Winston and am just amazed at how the feedback from other families has been consistent with how we feel about our Winston. As far as I'm concerned Rutland Manor Australian Labradoodles are priceless

Winston goes everywhere with our family when we do our outdoor adventures. Winston is the smartest dog I've ever known, he only had two mishaps in the house when we first got him and he has basically trained himself, for example he puts his head on my knee when he needs to go out!

Dear Rutland Manor,
It was a long travel for Balou but he came out of his crate so happy and after he firstly greeted Birgit , greeted he afterwards Marnix and Tobias and then us. There was immediately a loving friendship of both sides. He is just perfect, everything we hoped for. Kind, pleasant, very beautiful and already a large friend of Birgit. When we came home he ran around in the house as if he knew it already. Not at all frightened, but happy that he came HOME.
He sleeps deliciously beside the bed of Birgit. As from the first night at us he has slept quietly without crying because he left his family. It really felt as if he considered us immediately as his new family. He walks behind me as if I am his mother and plays with the children as if they are his brothers and sisters. We are all super happy with him.
He is already now very special for Birgit, thank you so much Beverley. I let you how it goes with Balou and with Birgit.
