Rutland Manor Australian Labradoodles -Tribute to an Australian Pioneer And Breed Ambassador - Rutlands Louddle

On the first Tuesday in November each year, the 'Horse Race that Stops the Nation' is run in Melbourne Australia - The Melbourne Cup. As a tribute to Louddle's work, her owners Dellis and Graeme received an invitation to meet Prince Charles and the Dutchess of Cornwall (Camilla) at the Flemington Racecourse on Melbourne Cup Day November 2012.  Thank you Louddle, your outstanding service has not gone unnoticed in high places.

For sixteen years Loudle led a busy social life in and around Melbourne Australia, where with her parents Graeme and Dellis, she attended numerous fund raising Fashion Parades, and was probably Australia's first certified Therapy Australian Labradoodle. Since her early puppy days she was a well known and loved personality, with Footie Mascotting, Fashion Parading, TV appearances and Festivals and Competitions.

It was not usual in those days for dog visitations to be permitted in Australian hospitals.  Loudle blazed the trail with her gentle winning ways and clean allergy friendly coat which all won her favor until not one, but three major hospitals had her officially I.D.'d and on their books as Therapy Dog for their patients.

On 12th July 2007 Graeme and Dellis brought fourteen year old Loudle back to Rutland Manor for a tearfully happy reunion.

Graeme had us in stitches as he related an anecdote from when the family had moved house some years back.  Because of Hospital Visitation requirements, Louddle has a bath each Monday in the couple's shower recess.  She stands with her back facing the wall, facing the door and seems to enjoy the showering down of the water.

The Monday after they moved into their new home, they couldn't find Louddle anywhere.  They were panic stricken!  Had she tried to go back to the old home and gotten lost?  Was she hurt somewhere...or even stolen? 

They searched and called to no avail, until by accident they found her.  Louddle was standing in the new shower recess, with her back to the wall, facing the open door, and just quietly  .... waiting......WELL...it WAS Monday wasn't it?

Very impressed with how graceful and athletic she still was at age fourteen, I asked Graeme and Dellis how her health had been.  'never a sick day' said Dellis 'she was getting a bit stiff awhile back and we put her on a joint eze product and she's been good as gold ever since'

Graeme and Dellis picked up their second Rutland Manor puppy in July 2008 so that Louddle could teach her the ropes. The Countess ( Tessa )  has some impressive paw prints to follow.

Louddle went to the Rainbows Bridge at age 16 in 2009, where she waits to be re-united again with her beloved Graeme and Dellis.  Our hats are off to you grand old lady, a true ambassador, faithful friend and comforter of the sick.
