Rutlands Australian Cobberdogs is a boutique breeder focusing on genetic strengths and pure breed characteristics. We do not mass produce puppies. This means that by the time puppies are born, they are all already spoken for. Generally speaking, it is advisable to apply 6 months before you expect to receive your puppy. If you are very fussy about colour, gender etc., it will depend on Mother Nature how long you might have to wait. Conversely, if you are a little more flexible your wait time could be a lot shorter.
Puppies are born in the special nursery in our home. It is warmed in winter and cooled in summer. The first few days and nights are spent handling the newborns to make sure all are well, and that they're all warm and getting equal time at the mama's milk bar. When we've managed to get some sleep, then it's time to sort through the wait list to see if mother nature has given us a puppy or two who match your basic preferences such as colour and gender.
No. Deposits help us to recognize the level of interest and commitment you have when you submit an application for a Rutlands puppy. If you cancel, postpone or defer for any reason on a puppy you are offered who matches your preferences on your application, any payments you have paid are transferred to another puppy at a later time within 18 months from the date you postpone or refuse a puppy you have been offered.
It most certainly would, if we didn't take the exacting measures that we do at Rutlands to pre-condition our puppies for the sights and sounds they are likely to encounter along the way. Crate training is just one of the very many ways we achieve this. Results speak for themselves and there are numerous reviews on this website which express amazement at how our puppies arrive at far distant destinations so self confident and self assured and not in the slightest way stressed.
About Long Distance Travel
Airlines do NOT allow animals to be in passenger cabins on international flights no matter what the size. But our puppies travel 1st class international, in roomy kennels big enough to lie down and stretch out for a long sleep which young puppies do a lot of wherever they are. They enjoy the same controlled air conditioned comfort as do the human passengers. And we do not allow them to fly on week ends, when the animal travel watchdog IATA is not on duty at the airports
Cost is not set by us and is not in our control.
1. When you apply for a Puppy we will invoice you for the deposit of $500 (see currency for your country), which confirms your application and places you in our system. Receipt of your payment will be acknowledged. Applications not confirmed by deposit are discarded.
2. You will be notified when a litter is born which we believe holds one or more puppies we believe will be best match for the preferences you have set out in your application. If the timing for delivery is suitable and you accept a puppy from this litter you will be invoiced for the 'Acceptance progress payment' of $500.
3. Further progress payments of $500 each are invoiced at approximately 2 week intervals until the final balance of the purchase price is invoiced a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the puppy leaving us. If relevant, and the shipping quote has already been received by us, shipping may be included in this invoice.
4. Deposit and progress payments are deducted from the final balance of the purchase price. If you change your mind and cancel your booking, they are not refundable. They can however be transferred to a different puppy or litter if available.
5. We have no influence nor control over the prices for shipping.
