A Tribute to the Intuitive  "MAX" son of Rutlands Redd Baron - loved by Christy and Don in MA USA

 Hi Beverley,

Thought you might enjoy seeing Max, just a wee bit over his one year old birthday.  He is such a sweet joy in our lives...that is, when he isnt playing hide and seek with our shoes!

He is a good boy, and very mellow and intuitive... just the way we asked for...  He weighs 54 pounds...
Have a great day!

MAX's  (almost) 2 year old Update  March 2010

 Dear Beverley,

Thank you so much for thinking of Max and inviting us to send some photos and information about our sweet boy...  He will be two on May 15, 2010.  The pictures attached are the most recent, and as you can see, he so resembles his daddy, Redd Baron.

Max has the most wonderful temperament, gentle and respectful, joyful and playful all rolled into one happy dog.  It is no exaggeration that people stop their cars as we walk down the street to say hello to Max, and in our little village of Newburyport, Massachusetts, children flock to him when we are in town.

One day I left him leashed to the street lamp as I went into a store to pick up my lunch.  When I returned, there were three children hugging and crawling on him and their mother taking pictures!  We do not have children in our household, but somehow he instinctively knows to be gentle and tolerant of them.
When a woman in the building where I work (and take Max with me everyday) came in upset about a recent storm we had with high winds, Max immediately went to her and lay at her feet... she naturally knelt down and told him what a comfort he was to her when she felt anxious.

The most amazing part of these small stories is that I never trained Max to be this way...  Sure, we went to obedience class and learned sit, stay, and shake, but it is his personality and temperament that really shine through when we are with others, or just home by ourselves for that matter.

I want to thank you for the labor of love you put into this breed of dog... albeit not official breed yet...  He is a joy to have in our lives and we are very attached with love...

I also want to recognize that my groomer, Robyn Martin, of Canine Day Spa in Salisbury, Massachusetts, has been such a positive influence with Max.  She takes the time to clean and trim him in the quiet of her at home location, has taught him grooming table manners, and is also the one behind the camera who took these beautiful shots of him.

Thanks so much for everything,
Christy and Don Kramer

Beau - Beloved by Nanda & family in Holland

Sent: November 2009 8:30 PM

Hi Beverley,

Here is an 8 1/2 months old update of our wonderful boy Beau, son of Shania & Kelby.

< Beau Sydney's Allocation Photo

He really is the love of our lives. He is such a big sweet teddy bear and can sometimes be a goofy clown too! The wise look he had as a puppy, he still has. That is so special!

He and my daughter Kim, are the best friends ever. He is always waiting for her at the window when she comes home from school. It`s so wonderful to see how they love each other so much!

It`s also very special his brother Dorus lives so close to us. They still see each other at the dogschool every week and sometimes we go to the beach or the woods together.

A few weeks ago we had a Labradoodle romp with 25 Australian Labradoodles. Well, in no time they discover each other and then the fun begins! You really can see they are bonded for life!

Thank you Beverley for bringing this wonderful boy into our lives, we can`t imagine a life without him anymore!

Hugs,
Nanda, Raymond, Kim & Beau

Dorus - Dearly loved by Carla and her family in Holland

Dear Beverley,

Dorus is doing really good we are so happy with hem he is everthing we wanted.

He is a good looking guy, everywhere we go with him we get the most greatest compliments about him. It makes us really proud, but we do tell that Grandma B from Aussie deserve al the credit.

Take care,

Carla

Mugsy - Healed a 2 yr old child from the fear of dogs

"We now understand what everyone talks about when they say how special and different these dogs are."

(photos are thumbnails)

He is a wonderful dog and we now understand what everyone talks about when they say how special and different these dogs are.  We can't imagine our life without Mugsy.

The photo's don't even do him justice, he is gorgeous! He definitely does like to jump, as you told us, so we're following your advice and only petting him when he has all four's on the ground! I was able to spend a long time with him out in our backyard while our son was napping and we had a blast!

Mugsy made himself at home running around the yard, playing with a few toys. He ate his yogurt and then gulped down his bowl of chicken, rice and carrots. I even gave him a second helping because he seemed like he was still hungry.

I wanted to email you to let you know he's home, safe and sound and when I came up to our room to get onto the computer, Mugsy laid down right by my side and took a snooze. He then cuddled up underneath my chair, which is just the sweetest thing ever!

Again, we cannot thank you enough for all you've done.  You obviously cared for him in an incredible manner before sending him to us and we are forever grateful to you.

Warmly, Jenny.

MUGSY's First Night in his New Home

Our first night with Mugsy was great! I don't think I've ever heard of a puppy who didn't whine or cry during the night, but Mugsy didn't make a peep. We took him out one last time and he was in his crate from around 10:30-11:00 to 5:00am when my husband gets up for work. We were both amazed at the fact that he didn't cry at all during the night, considering he is away from everything familiar. We were still talking about it tonight, it's incredible. As I type this, he's in his crate for the night just sleeping away.

We have taken him for a couple of walks already, and again, we were surprised at how well he does on a leash. He walks right besides us and doesn't try to run off the leash or pull on the leash at all.

Oh.... one other thing, another surprise, Mugsy did have an accident in his crate and he stepped all over in it so we had to give him a bath tonight. He didn't even seem phased about that, he was very calm in the bathtub. You really did an amazing job with him the first few weeks of his life.

I cannot tell you how amazed Roman and I are at how Mugsy is with our son. He is great with me and with Roman but as you know, I was beginning to get a little nervous at first because Nicholas seemed so scared of him, that I thought we may have taken a puppy in at the wrong time.

The difference between last week and today is unreal. Let me tell you that our son is "all boy" as they like to say and he's constantly running around, jumping, climbing.... you name it. Mugsy jumps on him once in awhile but for the majority of the time, Mugsy will sit and watch him or not even pay attention to him. My husband and I just look at each other and we say that we can't believe Mugsy isn't running after him or jumping on him or chasing him. I think of other puppies at this young age and I can't imagine them being so laid back especially when you have a 2 year old whizzing by. He really is an incredible dog.

Tonight, I was reading books to Nicholas before bedtime and Mugsy was in our bedroom with us. Nicholas actually stopped reading and said that he wanted to give Mugsy a hug so he got on the floor and gave him a hug and Mugsy was great with him. He didn't try to bite him, which he does with us. You know what I mean, he doesn't mean to bite, but he plays and since his teeth are sharp, it feels like biting.  I don't want Mugsy to accidentally bite Nick and then have him get all nervous again. But like I said, Mugsy just kind of cuddled up with him. Before Nick went to bed, he gave Mugsy 4 hugs! We are just thrilled that Nicholas likes Mugsy now and all the anxiety seems to be going away. I think the two of them will be best buddies in no time. (For some reason, even though Nick can pronounce his "m"s, he calls Mugsy, Ugsy).

I hope all is well with you. We just wanted to let you know, again, how happy we are to have Mugsy in our family. Roman and I do see, already, that these dogs are special. Roman said last night that he's never been around a puppy that acts like this, meaning he doesn't act like a typical puppy. He is extremely laid back, happy and just goes with the flow.

He of course does the typical puppy things, which are to be expected, but he is different and I can see already about their intuition. It is amazing that he shows this already at 9 weeks of age. He is wonderful.

Take care and thank you again.

Jenny

Hi Beverley,

We got Gil feb/march of 2006....his parents are Wanda and Rustie.

We sure do love our Gil....he is "famous" in our town. He has been in a local magazine...all the tellers at the banks we go to all know his name, and send out dog treats for him even when he isn't with me. (to take home to him!)

He has touched the hearts of the hospice workers...we had a friend who passed away last week, we had gone to visit him every tues and thurs for 21 months in the hospice facility and all looked forward to seeing him every week.

The last day we saw our friend alive, Gil laid his head down on Wayne's feet....he had never even touched Wayne but maybe 2 times in all the times we had seen him....when Gil laid his head on Wayne's feet, my hubby and I knew that Gil was telling us he was dying.....Gil hadn't done that before.

I could be here for hours telling you how much he means to SO many people. We are so blessed that the Lord brought our paths together....thank you so much for all that you represent at Rutland Manor. Integrity and honesty....and the best dogs in the world!

Merry Christmas...blessings!

"the most amazing dog I have ever met"

Dear Beverley,

I have not sent any pictures of Lil Lindt until now.  He's amazing and wonderful.  I have met some people out here that speak highly of you.

Lil lindt is the most amazing dog that I have ever met.  His disposition and cuteness is unparalleled.  I am considering training him to work with disabled / special needs children here in LA.  He gives so much love to everyone around him that it would be great to channel that special quality to children that would benefit from it.  He arrived completely non-plussed and adjusted immediately to life at the beach.

I can't wait to get another brother / sister for him once he's a bit older.
Please find a picture of him attached.

Thank you thank you for a wonderful holiday present.
Best,
Kelly K. California

7yr Old AND 3 YR Old  UPDATES KILEY and CODY

(photos are thumbnails)

Beverley,

We can't thank you enough for giving us such a wonderful, beautiful puppy.  He arrived this morning and we could not believe how great he looked after two long days of traveling.

How can we thank you enough for Kiley and Cody.  They have brought such joy to our lives.  At once fun-loving, playful, clowns and yet intuitive, loving and sweet.   Kiley continues to be her energetic, slightly mischievous self.

At seven years old, she has lots of energy and can give Cody, who is less than half her age, a real run for the money at the dog park.   She loves all people and all dogs.   A friend of the family nicknamed her, "The Charmer."  And that she is.

Cody has the sweet nature and good temper that is typical of Kelby offspring.  Extremely gentle, Cody can be trusted with the elderly and with very young children.  But Cody has a playful side, too, and is great at soccer and any other game with a ball.  Also, he never met a mud puddle he didn't want to lie down in.

We have many years of canine companionship between us and can truly say, though we have loved all of our dogs, none compare to our Rutland Manor Australian Labradoodles as  family companions.   They bring  smiles to our faces every day.

Rex    Shania and Kelby. Arrived California 24th October 2008

"His temperament is exactly why we wanted a puppy from you."

Beverley--

I just wanted to thank you personally for the amazing puppy you sent my family.  He is so loving it is unbelievable.  Coming from a family where we couldn't walk our dogs or take them to the vet without having to worry about a dog fight we SO appreciate a dog who is completely unaffected by the presence of other animals.  Rex not only took to our Border Terrier immediately (and won her over!) but didn't even bark when he saw the little kitten we took in.

He just loves everybody and everything!  That temperament is exactly why we wanted a puppy from you and Rex has just confirmed that waiting for a Rutland Manor Labradoodle was the right decision.  I must also say that he has the most amazing coat and his color is gorgeous.  You were right to say we would be over the moon and I swear that we love him more every minute we spend with him.

I also wanted to tell you that Gary at Jet Set N Pets the Comfort Stop at LAX is wonderful. He contacted me several times before, during and after the flight and since he lives just a few minutes away from me even brought Rex to my house.  He clearly treats the puppies very well as when I received Rex he looked great.

Everything you, Helen and the whole Rutland family do for your dogs shows how much you truly love them.  I know that if we were to ever want another puppy we would come back to you. I have attached a couple of pictures of Rex (one with our Border Tris--please excuse the blown coat as she needs to be stripped and one with my older daughter).  We will be sure to keep you and the Chat Page updated and we can't wait to meet the other doodles here in the Los Angeles area. You're the best!

Liz Voxman

Beverley--

Of course you can use my email!  I truly mean every word.  I have worked with a trainer for years for my other dog and she told me about these amazing guys.  We definitely did not turn to you for just color (although the allergy friendly coat is a plus and your pups are beautiful) but specifically for temperament.  My husband and I know that training is a necessity for any dog, but a dog's underlying personality and temperament does play a huge role in what you get from all that training.  Believe me I know first hand that an aggressive dog can be controlled with training but his personality can't be changed.  Rex has that wonderful personality that we have been looking and hoping for.  And if you want to post what I wrote in this email you can use that too!  LOL.

Liz

ps My doggy children are lying asleep together at my feet as I write this.  Tris has a buddy again!

QUINCY  ARRIVES IN FLORIDA  MAY 2009. -

"He is everything you said he would be."

"There were three other puppies being picked up at he same time as Quincy and all three were obviously quite traumatized. The other folks picking up their puppies noticed how alert and unconcerned Quincy was. They asked were he had come from and when we told them Australia they could not believe it. "

(photos are thumbnails)

Beverley, Helen

I just wanted to let you folks know that Quincy arrived safe and sound. He is everything you said he would be. We have had several very bright dogs that we have raised from puppies; I have to say that Quincy is the smartest dog I have ever seen (though quite rambunctious I love it) not mention being extraordinarily cute. He is already settling in quite well. I should relate one other thing.

Though you were quite reassuring about him doing well over his long journey both my wife and I were still a bit concerned. However when we picked him up at the airport he was full of vim and vinegar.

There were three other puppies being picked up at he same time as Quincy all three were obviously quite traumatized. The other folks picking up their puppies noticed how alert and unconcerned Quincy was. They asked were he had come from and when we told them Australia they could not believe it.

Clearly, Beverley the protocol you have developed for acclimating these pups to travel is unique and without precedent. Once again thanks for a wonderful new companion.

Best Regards,
Bary Bertiger

Odie and Balou in Holland - 2 1/2 yrs and 1 1/2 year update

Hi Beverley and Helen,

I just want to give you a short update about Odie and Balou. Odie is now almost 2,5 years old and Balou is already 1,5 year old .

They are both lovely and very sweet and gently. We do adore them and they are really part of our family.

We would not miss them for anything in the world. They really like to play with each other and the ball is their favorite toy. They do listen very well and they are also very healthy dogs.

Ziggy and Gillian in Melbourne Australia arrived October 2009

Hi Beverley,

Ziggy is absolutely the best thing that's happened to me in months.  He's just adorable.  Thanks to all of you he knows his name and comes when called and already sits on command.  We'll now work on it being longer than a nano second!  He loves grated cheese as a reward so am going to use that for toilet training as well.  Inside accidents are becoming fewer and the majority are due to a lack of my diligence.

He's into everything and so alert, and a real clown.

He's been sleeping through the night since Sunday and although he protests when I first put him in the crate, he's quiet as soon as the light is out.

He bonded immediately. He wriggled a lot on my lap for the first part of the journey home last Friday but it was in the sun so I put him and the towel on the floor under my feet and he slept for most of the way home.  If I'm still for more than a few seconds he's curled up on my feet.  Currently asleep under my chair.  My parents are besotted with him and tomorrow my friend from work who came with me to pick him up is coming over to play with him.  She can't wait.

I think you could say we're going really well.

Beluga   Five Years Old Update Illinois  12th May 2008

- a natural born therapy dog.

Well Grandma Beverley it has been a long time.  Beluga just turned 5  and it has gone so fast.

All I can say is THANK YOU for the best  family member we could have hoped for.  Belu has turned into the most  cuddly, empathetic, playful, nurturing clown we could have hoped for.   She helps my daughter who has OCD everyday.  She keeps her calm when  she has panic attacks and makes sure she feels loved when she comes  home from school crying. She keeps us laughing all of the time and she chases a ball like nobody's business.

When my older children are off  at school she picks up their stuffed animals and cries as she carries  them to the door.  She then places them in a pile and lies with them  until they get home.  Her favorite sleeping spot is a laundry basket  and she will lie in one whether it is full or empty.  Belu actually  will pull them out to lie in.

My 2 year old climbs on her and Belu  just lies over to get her tummy rubbed.  All I have to say is when you  bred Becky to Cool Dude it was a perfect match for the type of dog we  asked for.  She is everything we wanted and more.  She is now 70 lbs.  and uses all of it to climb on us and keep us warm.  I constantly have  people tell me how she has the best manners and is one of the most  wonderful dogs they have come in contact with.

We just thought you  should know what we were up to and feel a great  accomplishment in  knowing what a great job you did.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Blitz  Adored by Laura  and family in Oregon USA 2008 - No allergic reactions

Hi Beverley, I want to thank you again for the new addition to our family.  My patience and research was all worth it.  After researching breeder after breeder, I always ended up back at the Rutland Manor website and wanting one of your puppies.  I was so excited the day you e-mailed me regarding the deferment you had on the jet black puppy from Kiana and Baron.  His name is Blitz and he is the best puppy we have ever had.

Blitz has fit perfectly into our family from the day he walked out of his crate. He has a great temperament.  Blitz loves everyone and everyone loves him.  He is a joy to be around, very gentle and mellow, yet always up to playing or running around the yard with the boys.   He is such a well mannered puppy that he is able to go everywhere with us and is always welcome at our family and friends homes.

My son Lucas and Blitz just graduated from puppy kindergarten and I have to say, they were the best in the entire class of 16 puppies.

The best part about it all is watching my 10 year old son cuddle up to Blitz and not have any allergic reactions.  He loves dogs and has not been able to touch a dog for years without getting a rash and running eyes and nose.

We would really like to add another one of your Australian Labradoodles to our family.  What do I need to do to get on the waiting list?

Thanks Again, Laura
