What Happens to Retired Rutland Manor Breeding Dogs?

Labradoodle Breeding Stock are the Future of the Breed

Rutland Manor's ASD Australian Labradoodle Breeding Stock are the future of the authentic breed and the culmination of twenty two years of carefully selective breeding for the traits of

►   Sound mental and physical health

►   The uniquely intuitive dog-to-human connection for which they have become famous

►   For reliably allergy friendly non shedding coats

►   Correct balanced conformation (anatomical body structure) which has eliminated a number of problems associated with skeletal and muscular irregularities.

The Australian Labradoodle is still a very young breed and is on its way to being detroyed.  Without the very special and unique traits which have taken so long to develop and to reliably reproduce themselves, the Labradoodle is 'just another dog'

We have helped many breeders over the years to set up their breeding programs and to establish their reputations.  Very few have maintained the purity of the bloodlines and have chosen to follow the ill advised mandates of associations which do not agree with the very vision that created the breed they claim to love and protect.

Breeders'  websites are adorned with multiple so called 'accreditation' badges, some of which are available to any breeder prepared to pay the fee asked.  'Breeding stock' which are frequently of inferior quality are sold and mixed with the Rutland Manor bloodlines and Codes of Ethics have become a joke due to lack of monitoring or follow through.

The sale of 'breeding stock' has become a lucrative business to many, and one which bears no resemblance to the caring and nurturing of the breed itself which some breeders profess to be their passion.

To stem the tide of this ruination of my life's work there will be no more Rutlands breeding stock released to other breeders after 2010 when our current commitments have been met with perhaps the exception of a trusted minority who commit to

ALFA's Guidelines.

We do not have large numbers of dogs. Some live with guardian families and come back home to be bred and to have and raise their babies, and just a few live with us and the team where they are cherished as the precious individuals that each one of them truly is.
