Two Year Old Update From New Zealand

"MOCHA" Born June 2006  Rutlands Minuette x Rutlands Kelby

Photos are thumbnails. Click to enlarge.

Hello Rutland Manor

I thought I would send a few photo's of Mocha.  As you will know, she is coming to her second birthday and is quite Miss Personality Plus.  She is bright as a button, and very quick to learn anything new.  Mocha is always seeking to please and the challenge lies with me trying to think of a variety and exciting things that I can turn her mind to.  Her favourite when we are out walking off leash, is to find something to jump on (picnic table or tree stump) so she will seek and find, hop up, sit and wait until I arrive with a treat.  She will stay while I walk away 100 or so metres and come hurtling towards me when I whistle her.

Last year, I set up my own business as a Dog Walker, so Mocha gets to accompany me on many walks throughout the day.  She is exceptionally obedient and very useful for training those naughty dogs which will not come back when called.  Mocha's list of tricks are endless, but the most fascinating one is when I say "Good Morning", she bows, then howls "Good Morning" back!!

As Mocha is part of my dog walking team, I invested in a professional set of clippers so that I could keep her looking immaculate, she adores the attention and saves me a fortune in grooming fees.  Mocha attracts a lot of attention when we are out, and it is very rare that we do not get stopped with people asking what breed she is and asking to pat her.

Mackenzie (my son) loves to play soccer.... and so does Mocha, and boy is she fast.   Mackenzie can hold the ball up in the air and Mocha will coming running, bump the ball with her nose and score a goal!!  It constantly amazes me how often she gets the ball in.

 Kind Regards  Michelle

UPDATE FROM NSW AUSTRALIA

"RHYNO"  born 20th April 2005 (Rutlands Encore x Tassies Megastar)

and  "LEO" (Rutlands Mrs Bean x Rutlands Yogi Bear)

Hi Beverley & RM Team

It has been quite a while, so thought I would send through a little update on our two most beautiful 'boys'!

Rhyno (chocolate - Tassies Megastar/ Rutlands Encore - 20 April 2005) & Leo (cream/gold - Yogi Bear/ Mrs Bean - 1 February 2006) are the best of friends & the most fantastic dogs we could ever have wished for. They are showered in love from my husband & I as well as their 'grandparents' who love them to bits....they are even allowed to sleep on Poppy's bed when they stay for sleepovers!

We had our first (human!) baby on 13 July 2007 & despite so many people telling us that the dogs would become "pushed aside" & to be very careful with them around Ava, they have been THE BEST boys ever!

Rhyno & Leo are not only a constant source of entertainment for Ava, they also come down with me every morning to get her out of bed, waiting on the stairs where they then lick her hands & say good morning - she thinks is absolutely hilarious!

Feeding time for Ava is made all the more fun with Rhyno & Leo wrestling in front of her causing her to break into fits of laughter mid mouthful, resulting in much of her vegetable dinner ending up on the floor & all over her face!!

As you can see from the photos, the boys are very loving towards each other & very protective/ loving towards their little 'sister' - Rhyno is incredibly patient with her particularly as he seems to be the one that she is the roughest with!!!!

"FINN" Arrives in Holland  February 2008

Son of Lil Jewel and Pal

Today at 6 in the morning our little Finn arrived at Schiphol Airport !! After customs and all the paperwork they finally brought us at 8.15 hours our little Finn.  He was totally excited...

We were both very happy to finally meet each other !

Then we tried to let him go to the toilet outside but he was so excited, he kept running and jumping and just wanted to be cuttled. So we got in our car for our two hour drive home, I did put the bench in the car with food and drinks, he ate like crazy and drank some water and washed his paws in it, ha,ha ! After that he was just running around in the bench and jumped up and off my lap, he was totally hyper ! After a half hour drive he finally did a little pee at the back of the bench.  We made one coffee/toilet stop on our way home, and after that we arrived at our home. He looked around our house and garden, he was glued to our feet the whole time.

At lunchtime the kids came home from school, they all fell in love instantly !

He is a puppie full of life just as I asked for, I can see through Finn how well you and Helen have read my application form and the letter I had attached to it, my compliments are for all of you ! You have selected the best puppie for this family and for me. He settled down so easily, I was really stunned, he is here now for 6 days but he walks around like he has lived here for years. The first few days I could know that he was confused and missing his surroundings and all your routines at Rutland Manor. He felt insecure, he was not able to lie down on his own , to go for a walk and just sniffle around he was completly glued to my leg. I felt sorry for him but did not made a big fuss out of it, I just went along with my day to day activities. He soon felt my confidence and let go of his insecurities.

Just as we speak, Finn is running around the garden, having a plastic cup in his mouth and showing off to Pip, what a pair ! Now he comes inside showing me the cup, ha,ha ! The first two days he was a bit snappy towards Pip, but she just waited she did nothing, no growl, no biting. She invited him to play contantly and now Finn is really into her, they bring each other so much fun, it's great to see !

After another nap he met our Labrador Pip, Pip was totally excited, Finn was at first a bit overwhelmed and was a bit snappy. Pip took more distance and was very gentle with him, I took them for a walk to make them more at ease and when I drove home they even shared the bench.

He is so cute, he's the naughty little boy we were looking for. He has amazing green eyes and a coat so soft you couldn't believe. He is not afraid of anything, he is very confident but also very cuddly. When you pick him up he is completely at ease. It's only his first day but he did tremendously GREAT. So many things to take in but he took it all like a pro !

Beverly, Helen, Leanne and all others who took such great care of him and all the other dogs, THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
I promise you I will take care of him as best as I possibly can !
Nina, Holland

NALA Arrives in SINGAPORE 15th February 2008

Daughter of Edelweiss and Pal

Beverley, Helen and all at Rutland Manor,

Attached are a couple of photos of Nala in her new home.  She had a brilliant first night last night.  She went into her crate (by our bed) with no problems and slept for a whole 8 hours!  Our cat is slowly getting used to her and my sons are delirious, she certainly keeps all of us entertained.

Best wishes,

Emma C Singapore

Arnie Arrives  in Zurich Switzerland August 2007

Yes our gorgeous puppy Arnie has arrived safely to us here in Zurich,

He’s doing well with us now (see the attached pictures), even if he sometimes is a bit naughty!! ;-)

He has adjusted just fantastic to the rhythm of our day such as eating, sleeping, relaxing and playing. Our only minor problem is that he only wants to have a walk if we are more than one person doing the walking.

Daughter of Edelweiss and Pal, loved by Karin, Laura and Stefan

Dear Beverley

Here she is your little puppy and our little dream.  She is so beautiful and sweet,we are so glad everything went okay with her long travel.  We only live 15 min drive from the airport, but we fed her first the yoghurt and then the chicken with rice and carrot, she was gratefull she was so hungry.   She was so tired she fell a sleep in the car.

When we got home from the airport, she looked for 5 minutes at her new home and immediatly started to play with my children.  She felt right at home.

You have picked the right puppy for us,she really is exactly what we wished for.  We will take very good care of her,and afcourse this will not be the last picture you will see of her.

Beverley thank you so very very much, and all of the employes of RM, thank you

Warm Regards from Karin Laura and Stefan in The Netherlands

Dear Mom and Dad, (Edelweiss and pal)

I am sending you a photo journal of my first day as a California girl.

We flew on Delta and they gave us two seats in the exit row so we had lots of room. Human mom petted me and I fell to sleep.  My new home is great. I'm too busy playing, exploring, eating and sleeping to take pictures. Maybe tomorrow.  I'll write home again soon,

Nibbles and Licks, Edelvale the California Girl

Here I am being cuddled by my new mommy Joanne.  Doesn't she look happy!  My flight to my new forever home went really smoothly. When I looked out my flight pod and met my new human mom it was love at first sight And here I am waiting at the airport for a flight to Northern California.

'COCO' Arrives in SINGAPORE September 2007

Daughter of Rutlands Curtain Call (Callie) and Rutlands Redd Baron (Baron) Coco arrived hale and hearty to capture the hearts of the family of Dr Paul Ho in Singapore.

Dear Beverley and everyone at Rutland Manor,

It's not often I feel so grateful for what you have done for me and I would like to represent the 7 of us in Singapore to Thank You from the bottom of my heart, on such a lovely dog you have given to me.  Coco is my dream dog and more. Looks aside, its the temperament and intelligence that sets her aside from the previous dogs I have reared.  She is inquisitive but not poky, playful but not naughty and above all, possesses this personality that melts your heart.

In our family, she is definitely taking on the Celeb status without any of the Diva attitude !!

I compared notes with Labradoodle owners who obtained their dog from different breeders and I must pay compliments to you and the effort you have put into Coco, to make her so presentable and pretty even on the first day touch down.

From my gathering of information from other owners of other doodle breeders, those poor puppies come to Singapore dishevelled, unkempt and some of them refuse to eat, another was shell shocked and did not make any sound or bark for several days.

Our Coco came into Singapore well groomed ( I can see your groomer did a fantastic job - thanks !) and so relaxed and eager to please - even on the first day of arrival.  Two days ago, we brought Coco to the vet for a general check up and the Vet commented that she is a relaxed, contented and well nourished dog !!

Thank you so much for all the effort you and your team have done to provide us with such a wonderful dog.

I look forward to waking up every morning and coming home every day and to so many things that we have planned for the family - with Coco - of course !!

I send you a few pictures of the visit. With the doodles and our daughters.  We wish you all the best and hope to speak to you soon.  Warm regards from Holland,
